Many of our treatments are suitable for a wide range of skin tones. For treatments such as chemical peels, pigmentation treatments and some aesthetic treatments, a thorough consultation is carried out first to ensure the most appropriate approach is used for your specific skin.
We recommend booking at least two to four weeks in advance for most treatments ahead of a special occasion. For microblading or semi-permanent brows, book at least six to eight weeks in advance to allow time for the initial treatment and a follow-up top-up session.
Many beauty treatments can still be carried out during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, however certain treatments are not recommended during this time. Please mention if you are pregnant or breastfeeding when you enquire so we can advise on what is and is not suitable.
Skin & Facials

Skin & Facials Questions

15 questions answered about skin & facials at Ami's Beauty & Aesthetics.

Ami specialises in advanced treatments for pigmentation, melasma, acne, rosacea and the visible signs of ageing. She works exclusively with Mesoestetic and Crystal Clear professional products, tailoring every treatment plan to your specific skin type and concerns.
A Mesopeel is a professional chemical peel from the Mesoestetic range. It works by removing the outermost layers of the skin to resurface, even out tone, reduce pigmentation and improve overall skin texture. There are different peel strengths available and the right one is chosen during your consultation based on your skin tolerance and goals.
Dermaplaning is suitable for many skin types including some sensitive skin. During your consultation, Ami will assess your skin thoroughly to confirm whether dermaplaning is appropriate for you. It is not recommended for active acne breakouts or certain inflammatory skin conditions.
This depends on your skin concern and the treatment chosen. Some clients notice a visible improvement after a single session, while conditions like pigmentation, melasma or acne scarring typically respond best to a course of treatments. Ami will discuss realistic expectations and a suggested treatment plan during your consultation.
Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals or a diamond tip to physically exfoliate the skin surface and is effective for fine lines, dull skin and mild pigmentation. Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade to remove dead skin cells and fine facial hair, leaving skin immediately smoother and brighter. Both are excellent treatments but suit different skin types and goals.
Yes. Treatments including chemical peels, microdermabrasion and advanced skin facials can help reduce the appearance of post-acne marks and scarring over a course of sessions. Ami will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate approach for your specific type of scarring.
This depends on the strength of the peel used. Lighter peels typically have minimal or no downtime, while medium-depth peels may cause some redness, flaking or sensitivity for a few days. Ami will explain exactly what to expect before your treatment and provide full aftercare advice.
For most facials it is recommended to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours to allow the skin to settle. After a chemical peel, sun protection is essential and makeup should be avoided for longer. Ami will give you specific aftercare guidance tailored to your treatment.
For general skin maintenance, most clients benefit from a facial every four to six weeks. For skin correction treatments such as pigmentation or acne, a more intensive course may be recommended initially, followed by maintenance sessions. Ami will advise the right frequency during your consultation.
Yes. Mesoestetic is a leading cosmeceutical brand used by medical professionals and advanced skin clinics worldwide. It is known for its high-performance formulas backed by clinical research. Ami is trained in the Mesoestetic professional range and uses it exclusively in treatments.
Yes. Pigmentation and melasma are among Ami's key specialisms. She uses a combination of professional-grade products and advanced treatment techniques tailored to the type and depth of pigmentation. A patch test and full consultation are always required before treatment begins.
Pigmentation is caused by an overproduction of melanin in the skin and can be triggered by sun exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation or ageing. While it cannot always be permanently eliminated, regular professional treatments combined with appropriate homecare and sun protection can significantly reduce its appearance over time.
Yes. A specialist rosacea facial uses gentle, clinically tested products to calm inflammation, reduce visible redness and strengthen the skin barrier over time. Rosacea cannot be cured but with the right treatment approach its symptoms can be managed effectively.
Crystal Clear is a professional microdermabrasion system using either fine crystals or a diamond tip to exfoliate the skin and stimulate cell renewal. It is a popular treatment for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines and giving the skin a brighter, more refreshed appearance.
Dermaplaning uses a specific sterile surgical blade held at a precise angle by a trained professional to exfoliate the skin and remove vellus hair. This is very different from shaving, which only removes surface hair and does not exfoliate. Dermaplaning also does not cause hair to grow back thicker or darker.
Brows & Lashes

Brows & Lashes Questions

15 questions answered about brows & lashes at Ami's Beauty & Aesthetics.

Brow lamination typically lasts between four and eight weeks depending on your natural hair type, skin type and aftercare routine. Avoiding oil-based products around the brow area and keeping them dry for the first 24 hours will help maintain the results for longer.
A topical numbing cream is applied before microblading to minimise any discomfort. Most clients find the sensation very manageable. A patch test and consultation are required at least 48 hours before the appointment.
Microblading results typically last between 12 and 18 months. The longevity depends on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you follow the aftercare guidance. A top-up session is usually recommended after six to eight weeks to perfect the results.
Microblading uses a hand tool to create fine, individual hair-like strokes giving a very natural result. Powder brows use a machine to create a soft, filled-in effect resembling powdered makeup. Combination brows use both techniques together. Ami will advise which suits your skin and preference during your consultation.
A lash lift generally lasts six to eight weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle and aftercare. Avoiding water, steam and oil-based products around the eyes for the first 24 to 48 hours will help maintain the lift.
Brow lamination is suitable for most people, but is not recommended if you have very fine or damaged brow hairs, active skin conditions around the brow area, or if you are pregnant. Ami will assess your brows before proceeding.
Yes. A patch test is required at least 24 hours before eyebrow tinting, lash tinting and lash lift treatments. This checks for any skin or eye sensitivity. Please mention any known allergies when you enquire.
Yes. Many clients book a brow lamination and lash lift together in the same appointment. It is a popular combination as both treatments complement each other and can be done back to back efficiently.
Semi-permanent brows are long-lasting treatments that deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin to create the appearance of fuller, more defined brows. Options include microblading, powder brows and combination brows. All semi-permanent treatments require a consultation and patch test beforehand.
Eyebrow threading is a quick treatment, typically taking around ten to fifteen minutes. It is precise, clean and one of the most popular methods for brow shaping due to the accuracy it allows.
Threading is generally considered gentler on sensitive skin than waxing as it does not involve any heat or chemicals. It removes hair directly at the follicle using a thin cotton thread, making it an excellent option for those with reactive or sensitive skin.
This depends on the type, age and colour of any previous tattooed brow work. During your consultation, Ami will assess the existing brows and advise whether any treatment is suitable. Please mention any previous brow work when you enquire.
A lash lift works best on lashes that have some natural length. Very short lashes may not respond as well to the treatment. Ami will assess your lashes before proceeding and advise whether a lash lift is suitable for you.
Yes. Brow tinting is commonly combined with brow lamination in the same appointment to add colour and definition alongside the lifting effect. This is a popular choice for clients with fair or light-coloured brow hairs.
For the first two weeks after microblading you should keep the brows dry, avoid makeup over the area, sun exposure, swimming and any skincare products near the brows. Ami will provide full written aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Waxing & Threading

Waxing & Threading Questions

15 questions answered about waxing & threading at Ami's Beauty & Aesthetics.

Hot wax is applied thickly and removed without a strip, gripping the hair rather than the skin and making it gentler for sensitive or intimate areas. Strip wax is applied thinly and removed with a cloth strip and works well for larger body areas such as legs. Hot wax is used for all intimate waxing treatments at Ami's Beauty and Aesthetics.
Hair should ideally be around 5mm long before your waxing appointment, which is roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Hair that is too short may not be caught effectively and hair that is too long may be trimmed before treatment.
Yes. Hollywood waxing is available at Ami's Beauty and Aesthetics in Ashford. It is one of our most popular treatments so we recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time.
Waxing results typically last between three and six weeks depending on your individual hair growth cycle. With regular waxing over time, many clients find their hair grows back finer and more slowly.
There is some discomfort with waxing, particularly in more sensitive areas. Using hot wax rather than strip wax on intimate areas significantly reduces discomfort. Regular waxing also becomes more comfortable over time as the hair follicle weakens.
Yes, you can still attend a waxing appointment during your period. However, skin sensitivity is often higher at this time so you may find the treatment slightly more uncomfortable. Please wear or bring a fresh tampon or menstrual cup to your appointment.
We recommend avoiding exercise, swimming, sunbathing, saunas and hot baths for at least 24 hours after waxing. The skin is temporarily more sensitive and open pores can be more prone to irritation during this time.
Yes, many clients with sensitive skin are waxed regularly without any issues. Please let Ami know about any skin sensitivities, conditions or medications before your appointment. A brief skin assessment is carried out before facial waxing treatments.
Make sure your hair is at least 5mm long. Exfoliate the area gently the day before to help lift any ingrown hairs. Avoid applying heavy moisturiser or body oil on the day of your appointment as this can affect how the wax grips the hair. Arrive clean and dry.
Yes. Full leg and bikini waxing can be combined in the same appointment. Please mention all areas you would like waxed when you send your enquiry so enough time is allocated.
Threading is one of the gentlest hair removal methods available and is widely considered suitable for sensitive skin. It does not involve any heat, chemicals or wax, making it a popular choice for clients who experience reactions to other methods.
Most clients have eyebrow threading every three to five weeks, depending on how quickly their hair grows. Facial threading for other areas such as the upper lip or chin may be needed more frequently for some clients.
Exfoliating the waxed area gently two to three times a week from around 48 hours after your treatment helps prevent ingrown hairs by keeping the skin surface clear. Keeping the area moisturised and avoiding tight clothing immediately after waxing also helps.
Some medications, including certain acne medications and blood thinners, can make the skin more sensitive or affect how it responds to waxing. Please mention any medications you are taking when you send your enquiry so Ami can advise accordingly.
We offer waxing for the following areas: Hollywood, Brazilian, bikini line, underarm, half leg, full leg, upper lip and full face. Threading is available for eyebrows and facial areas including upper lip, chin and cheeks.
Aesthetics

Aesthetics Questions

14 questions answered about aesthetics at Ami's Beauty & Aesthetics.

During your consultation, Ami will discuss your skin concerns, your goals and your medical history in a private, relaxed setting. She will explain which treatments may be suitable, what each involves and what realistic results to expect. No treatment is carried out at the consultation and there is no obligation to proceed.
All aesthetic treatments are carried out following a thorough in-person consultation to assess your suitability. Ami follows strict professional and safety standards for every treatment and will always advise honestly if a treatment is not appropriate for you.
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. A small sample of your own blood is taken and placed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the growth factors. This concentrated plasma is then applied or introduced to the skin to stimulate the body's own natural regeneration process, improving skin quality, texture and radiance over time.
This depends on the product used, the area treated and your individual metabolism. Results can last anywhere from six months to over a year for some products. A full discussion about expected longevity takes place during your consultation before any treatment proceeds.
Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments that work by stimulating your skin's own repair and regeneration mechanisms. Unlike dermal fillers which add volume, polynucleotides improve the overall quality, elasticity and hydration of the skin from within. They are well suited for clients wanting gradual, natural improvement in skin quality.
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that deliver hyaluronic acid deep into the skin to provide lasting hydration from within. They are suitable for clients who want to improve overall skin quality, radiance and texture. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
Most clients benefit from an initial course of three sessions spaced around four weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every six to twelve months. The exact number will depend on your skin condition and goals, which Ami will discuss with you at consultation.
This varies depending on the treatment. Some injectable treatments may cause minor swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site for a day or two. Ami will explain exactly what to expect for each treatment during your consultation and provide full aftercare guidance.
Aesthetic injectable treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please mention this when you enquire so Ami can advise on when it would be appropriate to book a consultation.
A consultation is required because every client has different skin, medical history and goals. It allows Ami to assess whether a treatment is suitable and safe for you personally, choose the right approach and ensure you have all the information needed to make an informed decision in a no-pressure environment.
Dermal fillers use a thicker hyaluronic acid gel to add volume and structure to specific areas of the face. Skin boosters use a thinner, more fluid form of hyaluronic acid that spreads throughout the skin to improve overall hydration, texture and radiance rather than creating structural change.
This varies by treatment. Some treatments such as skin boosters produce visible improvements in skin quality within two to four weeks of the first session. Dermal filler results are visible almost immediately, while PRP and polynucleotide results develop gradually over several weeks as the skin regenerates.
No. All the aesthetic treatments offered at Ami's Beauty and Aesthetics produce results that last for a defined period and then gradually return to their natural state. Maintenance sessions help to preserve results over the longer term.
Yes, in many cases different aesthetic treatments can be combined for enhanced results. For example, skin boosters and polynucleotides are often used together for comprehensive skin quality improvement. Ami will discuss the most effective combination approach for your specific goals at consultation.
Booking & Aftercare

Booking & Aftercare Questions

12 questions answered about booking & aftercare at Ami's Beauty & Aesthetics.

Arrive clean and makeup-free for facial treatments. Avoid sunbathing or using self-tan for at least 24 hours before most treatments. For waxing ensure your hair is at least 5mm long. For tinting treatments ensure your patch test has been done 24 hours in advance. Ami will send any specific preparation instructions with your appointment confirmation.
After most facials you should avoid direct sun exposure, heat treatments, heavy exercise and applying makeup for at least 24 hours. After a chemical peel, SPF 50 sun protection should be applied daily and the skin should be kept well moisturised. Ami will provide written aftercare guidance after every treatment.
Use a gentle cleanser, a good moisturiser suited to your skin type and SPF 50 every morning. Avoid harsh scrubs or active ingredients such as retinol or AHA acids in the days immediately following a professional treatment. Ami can advise on a homecare routine tailored to your skin at your appointment.
Direct sun exposure should be avoided for at least two weeks after a chemical peel. The skin is more vulnerable to UV damage during this time and sun exposure can cause pigmentation or uneven healing. Daily SPF 50 application is essential.
For the first two weeks after microblading keep the brows completely dry, avoid makeup near the area, swimming, saunas, sun exposure and any skincare products near the brows. Some light scabbing and fading is normal during healing. Ami will provide full written aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Wait at least 24 hours after waxing before applying fake tan. The pores are open after waxing and fake tan applied too soon can settle into the pores and cause an uneven result or irritation.
A cool or lukewarm shower is fine after waxing. Avoid very hot showers, baths, saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours after your waxing treatment as heat can irritate freshly waxed skin.
Avoid getting your lashes wet and keep them away from steam and oil-based products for the first 24 to 48 hours after your lash lift. After that, apply a lash serum or nourishing lash oil regularly to keep them in good condition and prolong the results.
Yes. After most aesthetic injectable treatments it is important to avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area, keep the skin clean and moisturised and apply SPF daily. Ami will provide specific aftercare guidance tailored to your treatment at your appointment.
Most clients can return to normal activities the same day or the following day after most aesthetic treatments. Some clients may have minor swelling or redness for a day or two. If you have an important event, it is advisable to schedule your treatment at least one week beforehand.
Simply send a new enquiry via the Book Now button on any page and mention that you are an existing client and the treatment you would like. Ami will confirm availability and your appointment details within 24 hours.
